New Mersey bridge expected to open on time
A major new bridge across the River Mersey is on target to open on time, according to those in charge of the project.
The six-lane roadway does not yet link Runcorn and Widnes but it is hoped it will carry its first traffic by autumn 2017.
The Mersey Gateway is being built to ease pressure on the existing silver jubilee bridge.
